Filing on electronic media

If you file 1 to 50 slips, we encourage you to file your computer generated returns through the secure Internet file transfer (XML) service. You will receive electronic confirmation of receipt, save on mailing costs, and benefit from faster processing. Alternatively, you can file on electronic media (DVD, CD, or diskette) 1 to 50 original or amended slips of any of the following information returns types T1204, T215, T3,T4, T4A, T4A (OAS), T4A (P), T4A-NR, T4E, T4RSP, T4RIF, T5, T5007, T5008, T5018, NR4, AGR-1, RRSP Contribution Receipts Return, SAFER and TSFA information returns.

If you file 51 information slips or more of one information return type, you must file by Internet file transfer (XML) in Extensible Markup Language (XML). The file size is increased to 150 MB. If your file is more than 150 MB, you can either compress your return or you can divide it so that each submission is no more than 150 MB.
