1. What is a representative identifier (RepID) and why do I need one?
A RepID is a unique seven-character alphanumeric identifier that identifies you as a registered representative with the Represent a Client service. You give your RepID to your employer, clients, family members, or friends so they can authorize you to access their tax information online.
2. I have registered for this service and received my RepID. What do I do next?
Give your RepID to your clients so they can authorize you as their representative to access their tax information online.
3. I have registered my business with this service. What do I do next?
First you need to associate your employees to your business through this service. Next, give your BN to your clients so they can use it to authorize your business to represent them. All employees associated to your business will have online access to these clients' tax information.
4. How do my clients authorize me to deal with the CRA for them?
Your individual clients should access My Account and enter the RepID to authorize an individual or an employee, or enter the Business Number (BN) to authorize all employees of a business. Clients can also authorize a representative by completing Form T1013, Authorizing or Cancelling a Representative, and sending it to their tax centre.
Your business clients should access My Business Account and enter the RepID to authorize an individual or an employee, or enter the Business Number (BN) to authorize all employees of a business. Clients can also authorize a representative by completing Form RC59, Business consent form, and sending it to their tax centre.

6. What is an administrator and can I name more than one?

8. Can an employee be both an administrator and a representative?
Yes. An employee that you name as an administrator can also be authorized by clients to be their representative.
9. What is the difference between a junior and senior representative?
These roles differ in the functions they can perform in their capacity as employees of business. The introduction of a "junior representative" allows businesses to manage their employees access to clients' accounts. The difference between a junior and senior representative is evident when level 2 authorization, view and request changes, is granted to the business:
When a business is authorized by a client for level 2, view and request changes, a junior representative can perform only a view information function whereas a senior representative can perform both view and request changes functions.
Client has authorized the business (BN):
