Notice - Heartbleed bug vulnerability
The CRA has put in place measures to support and protect the individuals affected by the recent criminal breach of the CRA’s systems as a result of the Heartbleed vulnerability. All affected individuals were sent a registered letter that provides them with information on the breach and on measures to support them.
If you have received a letter, you will find in it a dedicated 1-800 number that you can call to get further information, including what steps to take to protect the integrity of your SIN, as well as how you can access credit protection services at no cost. We have also applied additional protections to the CRA accounts of all affected individuals to prevent any unauthorized activity.
The CRA’s online services are safe and secure. Additional monitoring and surveillance measures have been implemented, so that the security of our site continues to meet the highest standards. We thank the millions of Canadians who are continuing to make use of our online services this tax filing season.
