Total income assessed
We use the phrase "total income assessed" to refer to the total of all items of income as they appear on page 1 of the tax return.
This amount may differ from true economic income presented in other publications. "Total income assessed" does not include certain non-taxable incomes, but it does include some incomes that have been grossed-up. It also includes net self-employment income (rather than gross self-employment income).
