Hi, I'm Nicole from the Canada Revenue Agency. I'd like to tell you about the public transit tax credit. The public transit tax credit is a non-refundable tax credit that allows you to claim the cost of certain transit passes or electronic payment cards you use for local ferries, buses, streetcars, subways, or commuter trains. And it's something you can feel good about, because while you save on your taxes, you also help reduce traffic congestion and air pollution in your city. To claim this amount, see line 364 of the 2008 General Income Tax and Benefit Guide. To learn more about the public transit tax credit, go to cra.gc.ca/transitpass.
Excuse me, my phone is ringing. I should take this call. Canada Revenue Agency, Nicole speaking, how may I help you?
