The My Business Account service from the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) provides useful information and services for GST/HST registrants, except for businesses located in Quebec.
View your up-to-date account balance and transactions for both interim and assessed periods.
If you want to see all activities for a different time frame, create a customized view of your account history by selecting a start and end date.
You may notice that you have payments or excess credits sitting in an interim period that are eligible for transfer.
If so, you can transfer these amounts to another interim period or to pay off an amount owing and then immediately view your updated balance.
Or, if you have an amount owing and plan to make a payment, use the "Calculate future balance" option to select a date in the future, and My Business Account will tell you the updated balance as of that date - including interest!
You can also check the status of the GST/HST returns you have filed and view your Notice of Assessment online before you receive your copy in the mail.
Eligible businesses can even create and submit an electronic copy of a GST/HST return eliminating the need to mail a return or to submit it through a financial institution.
