Policy Statement

A registered charity can request permission to accumulate property for a particular purpose. This allows a charity to postpone the disbursement of funds with respect to a specified purpose, that is particular and not general in nature, rather than excuse a charity from meeting its disbursement quota.

Under the Income Tax Act, the CRA can provide to anyone that requests it, an application filed by a charity for permission to accumulate property for a particular purpose, including any information filed in support of the application.
