The educational products on this page fall into two categories:

• a self-teaching product, Learning About Taxes; and
• two tools for educators, the Teaching Taxes Program and Responsible Citizenship and Canada's Tax System.

We hope these products will enable you to learn about taxation yourself or, as an educator, provide you with useful tools to teach the subject to your students.

Some of the benefits of these learning products are:

• understanding Canada's taxation system and how the taxes collected are used for the benefit of all Canadians;
• learning how participation in the underground economy is detrimental to society as a whole; and
• knowing about the availability of the various benefit payments and tax credits, and much more.

Individuals who earned income during the year from working, operating a business, selling property, or received income from other sources may have to file an income tax and benefit return. You may also want to file a return to receive certain credits and benefits. Be well informed - do it right.
