Vision

A person who is able to see without any difficulty and without the need for corrective lenses would not qualify for the disability tax credit (DTC).

A person who is suffering some decrease in visual acuity, but is still able to see adequately with the use of corrective lenses, would also not qualify for the DTC.

However, someone who is suffering from a degenerative condition that will not improve with the use of corrective lenses or medication and whose visual acuity is equal to or less than 20/200 in both eyes or whose greatest diameter of the field of vision in both eyes is 20 degrees or less, may qualify for the DTC.
