The amount of CPP or QPP contributions that you have to make, or choose to make, will depend on how much you have already contributed to the CPP or QPP as an employee, as shown in boxes 16 and 17 of your T4 slips.
Note Do not calculate CPP contributions on self-employment for earnings identified as box 81 on the T4 slips you received from a placement agency.
If you were not a resident of Quebec on December 31, 2011, complete Schedule 8 to calculate your CPP contributions. Enter on line 222 of your return and line 310 of your Schedule 1, in dollars and cents, the amount from line 11 of Schedule 8. Enter on line 421 of your return, in dollars and cents, the amount from line 10 of Schedule 8.
If you were a resident of Quebec on December 31, 2011, complete Schedule 8 (Quebec only) to calculate your QPP contributions. Enter on line 222 of your return and line 310 of your Schedule 1, in dollars and cents, the amount from line 10 of Schedule 8. Line 421 of Schedule 1 does not apply to you.
