Members' roles and responsibilities
- provide and receive advice and comments on administrative matters that reflect the pension industry perspective;
- identify opportunities for closer, more efficient working relationships with the pension community;
- provide and receive feedback on the CRA's plans and initiatives;
- provide and consider advice on the development of policies, procedures, and forms that affect industry operations; and
- serve on subcommittees if requested.
Frequency, format, and length of Pension Advisory Committee (PAC) meetings:
- The length of meetings will be determined by the issues raised, but will generally not be longer than one day;
- Meetings will be held in Ottawa at least once a year;
- Other meetings will be held as required;
- Members will be encouraged to submit agenda items for consideration. Agenda items should be submitted one month before a meeting, to allow time for translation (where applicable) and consideration by CRA officials; and
- Members may discuss agenda items for meetings with individuals or through associations, unless advised that an agenda item is confidential. Reading material for PAC agenda items may be given to members before a meeting to facilitate discussion.
