Requirement to File Contract Listings on Magnetic Media

As of January 1, 2008, issuers and carriers must file their listings of new contracts for retirement savings plans (RSPs) and retirement income funds (RIFs) on magnetic media. The Canada Revenue Agency's Registered Plans Directorate will deny registration for all RSP and RIF contract listings that the Directorate receives on paper on or after January 1, 2008.

You can file a listing in one of two formats:

• American Standard Code for Information Interchange (ASCII)
• Extensible Markup Language (XML)
